Do you want to be a Tennessee FCCLA State Officer?
The Tennessee FCCLA State Executive Council is a foundational piece of our state organization! The role of a State Officer is one of service and growth. Throughout the academic year, State Officers engage members, industry, and educational institutions with the greater purpose and goals of Tennessee FCCLA. Alongside promoting our organization, State Officers develop their own leadership and professional skills through insightful training opportunities, networking engagements, legislative visits, and countless other enriching experiences.
A State Officer's duties begin when they begin the candidacy process. All Tennessee FCCLA members who meet the requirements are encouraged to run to be a part of the State Executive Council; our State Officer Team needs all types of backgrounds, experiences, and aspirations.
Is it mandatory that candidates must have competed in a star event to run?
It is not a requirement for a State Officer Candidate to compete in a STAR Event. However, it is always beneficial to have personal experience with FCCLA competitive events!
Are you still going to be able to have time with your chapter?
Yes! You have plenty of time to spend with your chapter. You get to take all the insight new insight back to your chapter to make them stronger and more engaged!
Should I be scared to run for office?
No! Get out of your comfort zone and just be yourself! Even if you don't get the position, you will have made friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
Are the interviews intimidating?
Not one bit! The online interview feels like a FaceTime with your old friend, and the in-person interview allows them to get to know you. Just be yourself and answer all the questions to the best of your ability.
