Who is eligible to be a member of FCCLA?

Any student who has taken a course in following Tennessee CTE Career Clusters: Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications, Education and Training, Hospitality and Tourism, and Human Services or as determined by the state department of education, Middle school through grade 12 is eligible for active membership in an organized chapter within their school. Once the state and national dues are paid, the student will be an official affiliated member.

Teachers can join FCCLA, too! Teachers certified to teach Family and Consumer Sciences Education, or as determined by the state department of education, can serve as the FCCLA chapter adviser.

How do I join FCCLA?

Please review the Getting Started video and the Join FCCLA brochure before you affiliate your chapter for guided instructions.
Then, once you are an official FCCLA chapter adviser, the Chapter Adviser Affiliation Guide will provide you with step-by-step instructions for affiliating your chapter on the state and national levels.

When you get ready to collect your member data, use the Member Affiliation Information Sheet to collect all the information you need from your chapter members. Then when you enter your members in the system, be sure to utilize the FCCLA Chapter Member Excel Template to make your chapter member upload is as seamless and smooth as possible.

Affiliation Instructions

  • Affiliation Fee: $14 per person ($9 national dues + $5 state dues)

There is a 12 student member minimum or $168 per chapter, plus an advisor fee of $14 per advisor. Advisors must attach a copy of the invoice to all payments to be accurately processed. All membership affiliation materials and payments will be sent directly to the FCCLA National Headquarters.

  • Before beginning your online chapter affiliation process, review the tutorial video for guided instructions.
